September 2, 2010: hard freeze. I woke up and thought of the potatoes, carrots, and onions incubating in the garden.
The tan I never got.
The mountain passes I never hiked over.
The fish I never once tried to catch.
Summer is fleeting, up here in the north country, but this is just downright traitorous.

Oh dear!!
I thought our 2 days of rain was bad, but a hard freeze? Yuck. Did you at least get a good mater harvest this year?

We got a precious few, only because Brother Dear started a big plant in South Carolina and then hauled it out here! Did you?
